I’m late on releases, I know. I had to do a lot of infrastructure work and debugging when I got back from Apple to have reliable Leopard and Tiger build bots for MPQKit and Riven X. All that is now done, which means right now I’m focusing on Riven X and wrapping up MPQKit Beta 1. The fact I have a build infrastructure in place also means I will be introducing nightlies very soon, starting with Riven X.
Stay tuned. This will be an interesting year, I promise.

When I try to use Riven X, it crashes immediatley. Here is the console log:

2007-10-06 10:07:44.591 Riven X[2488] Received display profile change notification, updating display colorspace.

Oct 6 10:07:44 my-computer crashdump[2489]: crash report written to: /Library/Logs/CrashReporter/Exited process.crash.log
I have also tried compiling the subversion code, but the build fails. For some reason it cannot find the MHKKit framework, even though that compiles correctly.
Is there something I’m doing wrong?
help would be appreciated

Hi Jean-François,
I was thrilled to find that you are developing Riven-X. I found out just last night that Leopard won’t support Classic so when I upgrade my iBook G4 I would lose the ability to play it. I was even considering not installing Leopard on my iBook because of this!!
I’ve just downloaded V0.0.2 and tried to run it on my 20″ Intel iMac and it just crashes
and the following appears in the Console Log:
2007-10-26 11:17:49.628 Riven X[12295] *** -[NSBundle load]: Error loading code /Library/InputManagers/SIMBL/SIMBL.bundle/Contents/MacOS/SIMBL for bundle /Library/InputManagers/SIMBL/SIMBL.bundle, error code 2 (link edit error code 0, error number 0 ())
2007-10-26 11:17:49.744 Riven X[12295] I am the first and the last, the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end.
2007-10-26 11:17:49.744 Riven X[12295] No local data store could be found.
2007-10-26 11:17:49.745 Riven X[12295] No removable data store could be found.
2007-10-26 11:17:49.746 Riven X[12295] The World could not be created. Details: NSError “Mac OS error -43″ Domain=NSOSStatusErrorDomain Code=-43
I also get the same error on my iBook G4. Both machines are running OS X 10.4.10.
I look forward to whatever you can do to make it happen. Thank you so much,

Stephen Watson: current binary build are very old. I’m doing my best through a busy college schedule to get a new build ready by the holidays.

I’ve been thinking about trying Riven again for awhile, but I had assumed that given it’s age - it would be impossible. Seems like there’s hope now though thanks to you, and if/when you get your Riven X project in a state that is usable/beta, I’d love to try it out!
